What Happens In Covenant Group....Blesses You and Others!
Fall is a time of new beginnings for children and adults. If you've wondered about
covenant groups, now is a great time to check one out. All groups are open and ready
to welcome you. There are women's groups, men's groups, and mixed groups, meeting at a variety of times and locations.

Here is the basic format of a meeting (some groups differ slightly):
1. Begin with a moment of silence and prayer.
2. Highs and Lows: Each member takes 2-3 minutes to share the highlights and low points of their week.
3. Look/Book/Took Bible Study: The Look section allows the group to make observations about the world as we experience it. The Book section invites the group into scripture to see the world through the light of God's Word. The Took section enables us to take home a truth we have discerned.
4. Prayer: Aloud or silently we give thanks, and pray for the needs within our group, our families, our church, and our community.

If this sounds like the kind of experience that could enrich your life and deepen your
faith, please contact Anne Wilde at 408-379-2235 or AnneAerobic@aol.com Here is a list of Groups:

September is Disaster Awareness Month
Ready.gov recommends that you . . .
Be Informed. Make a Plan. Build a Kit. Get Involved.
Part of making a plan involves communication with your loved ones after an earthquake.

How will you check with them to ensure they’re all right?
Tip: Send your loved one this text message containing only four letters: RUOK
(meaning “Are you OK?”). Your loved one can text you back with this message: IMOK
(meaning “I’m OK). Simple text messages like this are more likely to get through when
telephone communications may be limited following a major earthquake.

Attending the class below Sunday at The Point will help you be bettered prepared for the next disaster. Hope to see you there!

Disaster Preparedness Phase 2: Be Prepared at Home
Living in earthquake country, we need to be prepared for the next “big one”, as well as
other types of disasters. Last spring’s Phase 1 class provided a disaster preparedness
overview and info on how we are prepared at church. This Phase 2 class focuses on
being prepared at home. Dave Wilde will review basic home and family emergency
preparedness, so that we will be better able to help our families and our neighbors.
Dave is a health and safety professional, and has years of experience with emergency
preparedness at work and at home.
